Welcome to the Judge Hassell Campaign Site!

For nearly a decade, A. Robinson "Robby" Hassell has served as a district court judge for the Eighteenth Judicial District (Guilford County) of North Carolina. Since his initial appointment to the bench by Gov. Jim Hunt, Judge Hassell has presided in each of the district courts in both Greensboro and High Point, including hearings involving civil, criminal, juvenile, traffic, and family law, and has served in leadership positions on and off the bench in his profession and in his community.

Prior to his appointment and subsequent re-elections to his current position, Judge Hassell engaged in the practice of law both as an assistant public defender and as a private practitioner where he handled family law and civil litigation matters ranging from disputes in small-claims hearings to the North Carolina Supreme Court, while appearing in over twenty counties as well as in federal and other administrative courts.

Over the course of his career, Judge Hassell has demonstrated a strong sense of integrity, a commitment to professional excellence, and a working knowledge of the needs of our court system, while maintaining the level of competence, impartiality, intelligence, and temperament essential for a presiding judicial official. He is proud and honored to be in a position of public trust to help make Guilford County and its system of justice the best it can be.

He is currently seeking reelection to an additional four-year term in a countywide, nonpartisan race. Feel free to explore this site for more information about our courts and about Judge Robby Hassell.
